Safe Haven Shelter refuses to assist men and their children
Safe Haven Shelter in Duluth Minnesota ignored us and refused to help when my minor female child and I were suffering… We suffered extreme domestic violence, threats of murdering the child and objects including a knife thrown at us. And when we tried to get help we were shut out by Safe Haven Shelter and denied assistance.
I asked why and it was nothing but snarky remarks and arrogance. They would not even refer us to another place. Now that’s a sickening amount of hate. Refusing to help a man and a minor child is disgusting. And also treating us poorly when we call is heinous.
Now you know why we’re here…
How many other men with children have been refused assistance? Since we published our story back in November 2025, we have been contacted by many men, who claim they were also disregarded. We are seeing a disgusting trend of helping one gender, on the backs of the suffering other gender.

We directly challenge any supporter of Safe Haven Shelter to come meet the growing group of men, women and children that they left for dead and will not assist or acknowledge. The victims of Safe Haven are planning a candle light protest infront of both Duluth locations of Safe Haven Shelter at: 2010 E 7th St and the 414 W 1st St location. A light dinner and refreshments will be served to all those who attend. You may also attend our weekly meets via zoom or facetime. Escaping domestic violence Feb 11th, 2021 @1652. Security video below captured me escaping domestic violence in our kitchen. Video starts once the camera detects motion as I flee the house. A fresh produce box was delivered to our home ealier in the day. The contents were froze solid as the temps were well below zero. This made someone very upset and irrational as they unpacked and inspected the contents.
One of the contents of the box, a softball sized frozen onion became one of the weapons. As they stood at the kitchen counter 10ft away from me and 6 feet away from our toddler with a knife and the onion in hand, the threats of violence started to escalate. I made my way to the door and quickly put my jacket on. As I opened the door to escape, out of the corner of my eye I saw an arm rise up and then an item was thrown at me.
First the knife, then the onion. The knife hit the door frame about a foot away from my face and fell to the floor. I opened the door to get out and the video starts. On the video at the 3 second mark you will hear an incredible thump, that doesn’t match the sound or timing of my foot steps. That was the frozen onion hitting the wall where I just stood. Leaving a partial onion skin and dent in the wall.
At the 12 second mark the exterior door is reopened and the onion was thrown outside towards me again while I stood dumbfounded attempting to process what just happened. No one listened. Eventhough there is this video the worthless Duluth police just say, “there’s nothing we can do.” More like there’s nothing they will do for a man suffering domestic violence, because men aren’t victims of domestic violence. Eventhough the child witnessed and suffered after what she saw.
I called many domestic violence help organizations in Duluth. Not a one took a man seriously and some even ignored me when they figured out the spouse has / is claiming domestic violence. I could smell the judgement and inequity / sexism after they asked me for names. Thier tone and demeanor changed and I never heard back from any organizations.
If you work or are involved in a domestic violence program in the Duluth area, you may not realize how sick and bigoted the organization is, here is a challenge to you…
Go to Google. Do a search for domestic violence. Click, turn on images, from ‘all’ to be displayed. Scroll through the 1000s of images. Tell me if you see a man as the victim in any of the images. All I see is a woman victim. How many times do you see the man as the perp? How many times do you see the man in handcuffs? How many times do you see the man bruised? How many times do the sexist police ignore a man?
Now go to the many organizations ‘assisting’ victims. Start looking at the language these organizations use. Not once will you see a battered men’s shelter. Not once will you see a program targeting men who have been abused. These programs are rooted in sexism, hate, bias and ignore men. And what is even sicker, they get monies from government and donations while they blantantly misrepresent themselves to donors.
Now, go ask the ‘police’ how many times the man is removed from the home when they respond to domestic violence, versus the woman. Every cop I know is adament that the system is completely rooted in sexism and the man is never taken seriously. This is what I experienced in Duluth and it created a dangerous situation for my child at the hands of the lawless Duluth police.
Just like domestic violence against women is a harsh reality of our society, so is domestic violence against men. Unfortunately, most people fail to acknowledge and recognize the dangers and prevalence of men as victims of domestic violence, due to years of social conditioning, brainwashing, and gender stereotyping.
Gender stereotypes make it difficult to view men as victims and women as perpetrators of domestic abuse. Female perpetrators tend to use different methods of abuse than men, often relying on psychological abuse and manipulation.
Male victims of abuse often feel isolated, embarrassed, and emasculated, making it difficult for them to come forward. Why? The program below portrays Men as the problem, and the program has been adopted nation wide.

Safe Haven is also a promoter of abortion, they’re responsible for the murder of 1000s of unborn children. Just across the street from the St. Louis County District Courthouse, the Duluth City Hall and both the Duluth prosecutors and St Louis County prosecutors office. A complete failure of justice from the bigoted Duluth Police to the disgusting people that wear robes at the courthouse, no one listened to a man suffering domestic violence. What’s very scary is that the monster is now working at Duluth Schools with your children or grandchildren. After what my child and I lived through, we find this very disgusting. We saw something, now were trying to say something.
